The joy of church is found in belonging to a community of faith and the fellowship that goes along with it. Community Baptist believes strongly in the importance of being a community, From the name of our church to the semi-monthly fellowship hour after service on Sunday, Community Baptist is a warm, enouraging fellowship of believers.
We are called to look out for and take care of one another. When you come to Community Baptist you can feel the warmth and you will not be a stranger for very long.
Worship at Community Baptist is exciting! You never know what you are going to experience from week to week. We worship God through various kinds of music; traditional hymns, blues, jazz and contemporary Christian music. We show short film clips, share prayer together and leave lots of space for the Holy Spirit to move us.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and as such has just as much meaning for us today as it did when it was written. Being Baptist we believe that we each have the ability to read the Bible and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit come to an understanding of how the Bible speaks to us. With this ability comes the responsibility to be in communion with other believers, participate in worship and engage in dialogue with others in our community. What we call the "Priesthood of all Believers" is central to our faith. Being an active part of the community of faith is essential to being a Baptist.
